Update for 2022 Many of these venues are temporarily closed or have limited number of guests due to COVID-19. Since so many wedding plans are adapting to the pandemic, I’ve created this updated list for couples who are looking for small wedding venues. Be sure to scope out the outdoor wedding venues as well. What are the best indoor wedding venues in Montreal? Industrial and gallery spaces These former warehouses and industrial lofts have been converted to art galleries or event spaces. Their minimal look with large windows and brick walls makes a perfect blank slate for you to create your own dream wedding look. Entrepots Dominion This industrial space in Griffintown has capacity for up to 250 guests. Beautiful setting along the Lachine Canal near Atwater Market with photo locations within walking and Espace Canal Another industrial space next door to Entrepôts Dominion. Their terrace can host up to 200 guests for an outdoor wedding ceremony. Opt for the Espace Canal space for a minimal loft setting. Located right on the Lachine Canal with great photo locations within walking distance. Fonderie Darling Magnificent event space with industrial look, high ceilings, large windows and a brick wall. Can seat up to 300 guests. Located in Cité Multimédia area near downtown Livart gallery This art gallery in the Plateau Montreal has two main rental spaces a minimal white gallery and an industrial warehouse-style reception area. It also has a small rooftop terrace. Updated for COVID restrictions, the capacity is 100 in the industrial hall or 85 in the Les 7 doigts An industrial chic space with very clean Wilder This modern urban venue has exposed concrete and high ceilings. Located in downtown Montreal. Access to a rooftop terrace. Restaurant wedding venues These beautiful restaurants also host weddings and their fine chefs can provide excellent dining for your guests in a beautiful ambiance. Ristorante Beatrice BICE Up to 200 guests. Has a gorgeous combo of indoor and outdoor dining with a terrace feeling and greenery Magnificent spacious venue with warm wooden flooring, white brick walls and big windows. Up to 200 people. Update this venue is not booking weddings for 2021 due to COVID. Hotels Intercontinental Hotel The Ruelle des fortification is a historical street that has been preserved within a glass atrium while the modern architecture of the Montreal World Trade Centre was erected around it. It has a reflecting pool fountain and an enormous chandelier. Le Westin Montreal This hotel is located just steps away from the Palais des Congrès. The Fortifications ballroom on the 9th floor has a terrace with an amazing view of the downtown Montreal skyline. An outdoor terrace is available for ceremonies. Hotel 10 wedding venue Traditional venues For a traditional wedding in an elegant setting, these two halls are ideal Windsor Ballrooms Several elegant ballrooms that can seat up to 300 guests. Located in downtown Montreal, facing Dorchester Carlton Luxury hall with an adjoining garden terrace. Up to 260 guests. Classic charm, located in downtown Montreal near the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts. Oval Room at Ritz-Carlton wedding venue Ritz-Carlton wedding venue Forest & Stream Club This is another traditional venue. A manor with old-world charm on Lake Saint-Louis. Up to 80 guests in the dining hall or up to 200 in a marquee tent on the property. Old Montreal wedding venues Auberge Saint-Gabriel This historical inn in Old Montreal was renovated with modern, eclectic touches. The Grenier Hall in the attic has a rustic vibe with its wooden rafters and walls. The Truteau hall has stone walls, stained glass windows and a Science Centre For a modern aesthetic in Old Montreal, you can’t go wrong with the Science Centre. This venue has a few spaces, including the Belvedere which has a panoramic view of the Old Port, with its floor to ceiling This modern industrial space is so luminous with its large windows and high ceiling. There’s a nice terrace with a view of the Old Port. SCENA modern wedding venue Crew Collective and Cafe This heritage building was once the head offices of the Royal Bank of Canada. It has kept all its historical charm with marble flooring, high vaulted ceilings and large chandeliers. Feels like you’re in a movie!Hotel William Gray Contemporary hotel with a beautiful lobby and restaurant, plus modern reception halls to seat up to 300 guests. Hotel Place d’Armes This hotel located on Place d’Armes square has a rooftop terrace with great view and the beautiful Brasserie 701 restaurant can make a lovely reception area as well. Hotel Nelligan Hotel Nelligan This hotel has lots of brick and stone walls for a historical setting that fits in perfectly in Old Montreal. Vieux-Port Steakhouse Alternative wedding venues Want to get married in an unconventional venue? Here’s a few options that will take you off the beaten path! Cabaret Lion d’Or A unique event space with an art deco style. This cabaret hall dates back to the 1930s and while it has been updated with some major renovations, it has loads of historic charm. It is frequently used for shows and is well equipped with a stage and sound system if you want to have live music at your wedding reception. Cabaret Lion d’Or Nomad Life For wedding couples who want a very non-traditional venue, NOMAD is a 4000-square foot production studio and art gallery. It can be rented for events and is fully furnished in an eclectic, bohemian style. Location Mile bar and food truck This fun venue is located in St-Henri along the Lachine Canal. There’s a mix of indoor and outdoor spaces with colourful picnic tables, ping pong tables and murals. Perfect for an informal wedding with picnic/BBQ vibes. Outdoor wedding venues in the Montreal area Parks Parc Jean-Drapeau has two lovely event spaces that include outdoor ceremony spaces La Toundra aka the Canada Pavilion Outdoor garden setting for the ceremony, then an indoor space with huge windows to give you the feeling of being surrounded by nature. Capacity of up to 180 seated guests. La Toundra wedding reception at sunset Pavillon de la Jamaïque Jamaica Pavilion This venue has with floor-to-ceiling windows on three sides so you have an amazing view of the green spaces around. Two options for an outdoor ceremony space by the riverside near a tall willow tree or on the terrace just next to the pavilion. Capacity of up to 100 seated guests. Pavillon de la Jamaique Can you get married at the Montreal Botanical Garden? The Montreal Botanical Garden has several spaces available to rent for wedding ceremonies and receptions. However, they are not currently accepting wedding bookings due to the pandemic. They do currently allow wedding pictures outdoors in the garden on the grounds. There is no additional permit required, just the entry Royal park If you want a simple outdoor ceremony location for a wedding under 50 guests, you can get married in the park right in the heart of Montreal. Check out this outdoor wedding in Mount Royal park. Rustic wedding venues These barns and sugar shacks are perfect for a relaxed, natural wedding with rustic vibes. Sucrerie de la Montagne Authentic traditional sugar shack with beautiful wooden beams, rustic seating, original fireplaces, lanterns in the rafters. Outdoor property with spaces for ceremony, axe-throwing, bonfire. Plenty of room for lots of guests and you can even book rustic cabins to stay in the night of the wedding. Outdoor ceremony at Sucrerie de la Montagne Wedding reception at Sucrerie de la Montagne Vignoble de la Bauge Beautiful wooden barn on a vineyard property. My favourite part of this barn is how spacious it feels with its high vaulted roof. Here’s a wedding I helped my friend Nadia photograph at this lovely venue Rustic barn Grange Manson Rustic wooden venue in the Eastern Pont Couvert de La Conception This wedding venue near Mont Tremblant is built into a covered bridge. Up to about 100 guests. A charming spot. The only caveat is that the venue has an 11 curfew, so this option is not a good fit for late-night Grand Lodge Mont Tremblant This hotel up north has a woodsy mountain vibe while having all the comfortable amenities. Option to have a lakeside Bois Normand This smaller venue has a sugar shack vibe and the property includes plenty of spots for beautiful photos, including a small lake. Haut Bois Normand Countryside wedding venues near Montreal Vineyard, orchards and countryside properties are charming locations to get married and they provide so much scope for creative wedding photos. All these wedding locations in the countryside are within easy driving distance of Montreal. Auberge des Gallant Beautiful countryside property with friendly staff. There’s an outdoor ceremony space in the gardens and plenty of spots for beautiful portraits on the grounds. Two hall options a more rustic wooden pavilion and a modern reception hall that can host up to 200 guests. Gazebo wedding ceremony at Auberge des Gallant Au Vieux Moulin An intimate wedding venue in an old water mill, on a big countryside d’Oka This former monastery is big on historical charm. The property has a large lawn to host an outdoor wedding ceremony and receptions can be held for up to 200 seated guests in La Chapelle room or up to 400 in Le Grand Refectoire. It has a modern aesthetic with lots of natural Pomme A rustic wedding venue on an apple orchard in du Flanc Nord This lovely orchard in Mont Saint-Hilaire has capacity for small wedding up with up to 80 Rougemont This orchard wedding venue can welcome up to 130 guests in a marquee tent next to an outdoor ceremony space. The orchard and vineyard provide so many beautiful opportunities for photos. Orchard wedding portraits Coteau Rougemont Small wedding venues As wedding couples are adapting to the new post-pandemic reality, many are opting to have a smaller wedding with a limited guest list. The venues below are great options for intimate weddings. Studio L’Éloi A minimal production studio with a rooftop Loft Montreal Located in Lachine, this cozy warehouse space can host up to 100 guests and has no minimum guest count. It has warm wooden flooring and rafters. Canvas Montreal reception loft Jatoba Fine Japanese dining with capacity for up to 60 guests in downtown Ramezay The heritage building in the heart of Old Montreal can host up to 50 guests. The traditional French garden is perfect for an outdoor ceremony. Indoors, the elegant Nantes room features mahogany walls and crystal chandeliers de L’Horloge A sweet wedding venue inside what used to be the village post office in Rigaud, Quebec. The big backyard is perfect for outdoor ceremonies along the river. Outdoor ceremony at Cafe de l’Horloge Birru Small Japanese bistro with modern, eclectic vibes and an intimate garden terrace. Seats et Paddock A restaurant in Griffintown with a modern aesthetic and a skylight for luminous Cour Maison Pepin This tiny alley beside La Maison Pepin in Old Montreal is decorated by the owners of the home goods and lifestyle shop.
